I distinctly heard this word in my spirit recently; Expectant. It was quickly followed by a statement: Get prepared.

I’m confident the Lord wants you to know something today. If you want to see Him do something in your life, if you’ve been waiting on an answer to prayer, or waiting for Him to move something or someone, you need to expect Him to do it.

Maybe you’re out there wondering why He hasn’t done anything or why you haven’t seen results. Are you expecting Him to or just wishing? There’s a difference. When we are expecting God to answer or move, we are exercising our faith that He will do what He says He will. If we are only wishing God would do something, we doubt Him, not taking Him at His word. Doubting is unbelief. That’s a scary position to be in.

When we become expectant, when we just take the mindset God is going to show up in our situation, in our junk, in this muck that we’re asking Him to do something about, we are believing Him, believing in Him and therefore taking an active role in our relationship with Him.

Be aware though, once we become expectant, we then must get prepared for God to answer. What good would it do for the farmer to expect his crops to yield a good harvest if he never prepared his fields to produce the goods?

Do you want God to answer? Then get prepared. Expect Him to answer you, to move on your behalf, but step up and step out and prepare yourself, your surroundings to receive, accept, the blessing God is getting ready to pour out on you!

I heard it like this; you’re praying for your son to come back home but you turned his room into a den. If you expect God to answer your prayer and bring your child home, then get his room ready to receive him back home!

What are you waiting on God for today? Are you asking Him? Believing Him? Are you expecting it? More than that, are you prepared for it?

If you believe, you will receive whatever you ask for in prayer. ~Matthew 21:22
Therefore I say to you, whatever things you ask when you pray, believe that you receive them, and you will have them. ~Mark 11:24
